Enquiries and review requests

When you contact me or ask for a free review, I use your name, contact details and message to reply, prepare your review and talk about any work. Copies are kept by email and in a private file on my web hosting. I keep enquiries for up to 2 years, or for 6 years after any work for accounting reasons. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, and my legitimate interest in replying to enquiries.

Website reviews and letters

I sometimes write to local businesses with a free review of their website. To do this I use business details the business publishes itself, such as the name and address on its website or Google listing, or the public Companies House register. Each review is on a private page that isn’t listed or shown in Google, and is removed after about 90 days. I record when a review page is opened, the date and time, and the type of device, so I know whether to follow up. I don’t store full IP addresses.

The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in offering my services to local businesses. If you’d rather not hear from me, tell me by phone, email or post and I’ll add your business to my do-not-contact list and won’t contact you again.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you, or object to its use. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
